The NOYA mission is:
“To provide performance and visual arts educators a place to commune, discuss, and network to further artistic aspirations. We will work to strengthen the national database of arts educators for organizations looking for qualified and properly trained teachers. By providing scholarships and grants to both students and organizations we can open doors to the arts communities; while promoting artistic entertainment and enjoyment to the population at large.”
Through using “new media” techniques, we plan on bringing Organizations from across the United States together to create a dialogue on what is needed on how to effectively bring forth change in educational institutions. With two years of research and practical considerations NOYA has chosen the communities of Central New York State to be its test area.
Central New York, under intense social and economic change, has been bogged down with budget cuts and shortfalls in recent years, directly affecting the educational opportunities for a competitive artistic education. We plan on seeing how our approach to these issues can change both administration and public perception of what an arts education and value is.
NOYA has garnered support from many professionals in varied artistic fields. We plan on growing our network in the next year. Change takes time but you still have to dream big.delivered
